Cultural Revival IV: Arabesque

THANK YOU to all of our community member, our students, teacher, board members, volunteers and sponsors (Mezza Bistro and Miss Belly Dance), who helped make Cultural Reviavl IV: Arabesque such a huge success! We packed the house with over 200 audience members! In May of 2008 DAIR partnered with AfriSalsa to develop the first of our bi-annual Cultural Revival Series – an event for the community and by the community. Each of these events celebrates a different population in our diverse community and helps us find a common ground through the arts. DAIR's most recent Cultural Revival, Arabesque, celebrated the rich culture of the Arab world with student and community member performances, refreshments, live music and DJ’d dance party. This family-friendly event provided a unique opportunity for participants of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate the beauty of the Arab culture by borrowing certain elements from the traditional culture and adding our own modern twist, exploring the vertical space through aerial dance.
